Here are dogs that are available for adoption by private individuals who have asked for our help in rehoming their animals. We are often contacted by members of the community, in need of assistance with rehoming their pet. If we are full, we try to help in other ways, including contacting available resources and courtesy posting.
About our adoption program
What kinds of dogs does Lost Puppies rescue?
We rescue puppies and dogs of all breeds, sizes and personalities. Most of our dogs are mixed breed mutts, but we like to call them “Beijing Special”. We encourage you to pick your new family member based on its individual personality, not breed-specific characteristics which often aren’t true. We evaluate our dogs for good health and behavior and create an extensive profile of each dog so we can help you find a dog that fits your lifestyle. Unlike many larger organizations, we work with our dogs on a daily basis and really get to know them.
Where do Lost Puppies come from?
We work with several other local rescue groups to save Lost Puppies that are living on the streets of Beijing. Oftentimes, these dogs have been abandoned by previous owners while others have never known the comfort of having a place to call home.
What’s included with a Lost Puppies adoption?
Every adoption comes with a “match-making” appointment where we help you decide if the dog would be a good fit for you and your family. We include advice on training your new companion and tips to make their transition into your life as smooth as possible. Unlike many rescues, we are happy to work with first time pet owners, families with young children, and elderly and/or disabled individuals. We believe there is a great match for anyone who wants to care for and love a dog! We offer training and behavior guidance for the lifetime of your pet and are always here if you have any questions or concerns.
How much are your adoption fees?
Our adoption fee is ¥400 and helps to reimburse some of the costs of basic health checks an vaccinations that were already provided to your dog to make sure he/she is healthy and ready for a new home. Your adoption fee will go right back into the organization to help for the same medical expenses for other dogs.
How do I adopt a Lost Puppy?
Please fill out an adoption application so we can get to know you and your needs. Our adoptions manager will discuss with you to find a good match and will set up an appointment to meet the dog(s) you’re interested in. If you find a good fit, we can arrange a two week trial. If you decide that the pup is your forever pal, we’ll then confirm the adoption and settle the adoption fee.
Our staff and volunteers are always here for support, and we love receiving updates on the new lives of our dogs! You can also meet some of our dogs, as well as our friendly volunteers, at one of our events. Please email us anytime if you have any questions. We look forward to working with you!
